The Head of State of Togo Faure Gnassingbe has set up a committee which will conduct an “thorough investigation” a matter of large sums of money seized from traders at the airport International Lome, the government said Saturday in a statement.
The statement said several traders of foreign nationality were arrested Nov. 24 at the international airport of Lome Gnassingbe Eyadema, as they prepared to embark with large sums of money in their luggage.
The government talks of violation of the regulations on transfers of funds in this country, an indication that persons are arrested and that the funds are seized “as a precaution” to shed light on “the origin of these funds and their final destination. ”
He emphasized that he engaged in radical reforms to clean up the economy and revitalize the commercial sector, reiterating that he remains committed to the “free movement of goods, persons and capital.
He called on national and foreign economic operators to “comply fully” with the legislation in force, namely that which governs transfers of funds.

The work of the 26th Congress of the Society of Anesthesiology in francophone Africa (Saranf) and the first Congress of the Congolese Society of Anesthesiology and Emergency (Socaru) were completed Friday in Brazzaville by an appeal to Congress to maximize the chances of their professional development by improving the health system on the continent.
These meetings that were attended by delegates from 15 countries in Africa and Europe discussed in the roundtables, symposia and other special sessions organized for this occasion, various themes among others, taking massive emergency management, anesthesia and intensive care neurology, ENT and ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, nutrition perioperatively.
Other topics such as anesthesia and resuscitation of severe burn, acquisition and maintenance of medical equipment, hospital governance, resuscitation of the newborn and infant and the role of trainer IADE with other paramedics have been addressed.
Terminating the proceedings of these meetings held from November 24 to 26 in the Congolese capital, the Minister of Health and Population of the Republic of Congo, Georges Middle, called for the mainstreaming of anesthesia in the training curriculum health manpower in his country.
The 27th Congress of the Saranf be held in November 2011 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

In South Africa there is the greatest number of people receiving treatment for HIV and AIDS in the world, said Wednesday South African National AIDS Council (SANAC ).
A Talk Radio 702 in Johannesburg on the occasion of World Day against AIDS, the Director of SANAC, Nono Simelela, said that in South Africa than anywhere else in the world, there the most complete answer given to the pandemic.
She explained that men and women in South Africa come to be detected. With this, the prevalence figures in the country are accurate, “said Simelela.

Of these 4.6 million, 800,000 were tested positive, 17%.
In April, South African President Jacob Zuma launched a national campaign against HIV.
While the theme of World Day against AIDS last year was “I am responsible,” this year focuses on corporate responsibility, announced the Vice-President of South Africa.
This means that friends, colleagues and families should talk about HIV in their workplace, at home and within their community, and should take appropriate measures to care for those infected or affected.
In his speech, Mr Motsoaledi stressed that prevention is the main weapon in the fight against HIV / AIDS in Africa AIDS.

One hundred young people living in the hinterland in Gabon on Wednesday attended activities marking the World Day of fight against AIDS.

The Gabonese authorities place strategies to tackle the AIDS pandemic which still affects 5.2% of the Gabonese population.

At least twelve people were struck by lightning in two stormy episodes occurred Thursday and Friday in South Africa.
Seven people were killed and 40 others, including children, were seriously injured Friday when a crib was struck by lightning in Pongola, a town in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, the company reported South African SABC radio .
Parents and children were gathered in the nursery to attend a Christmas party when lightning hit the building, said the news agency SAPA.
Two parents, two teachers and three employees of the nursery were killed instantly, while the wounded were transferred to a hospital nearby.
Thursday, five people had also been struck by lightning in the South African province of Eastern Cape.
Mzukisi Fatyela, spokesman for the South African police said that two people died in Elliotdale, Mqanduli and two to one in Engcobo, in the previous episode stormy.
“They were all in their cabins when lightning struck them. The weather conditions then were very, very bad,” he told SAPA.

The death toll from the collapse Tuesday of a bus at a wadi on the road between Casablanca and Bouznika rises to 26 dead, said Wednesday the Civil Defence, quoted by the agency press MAP.
The bodies of two people swept away by waters, including an element of the Emergency Preparedness who participated in rescue operations, were found, the source said adding that search operations were continuing.
The bus carrying several passengers was washed away by the floods experienced by the region Tuesday.
